We thought so we created and then significantly improved, ApexSQL Model, and then made it free. We've released a major new version of ApexSQL Model (even though it is still part of the 2018 version series) with a ton of new features. Essentially, this release was a redesign of the entire user interface to add critical new features and improve the appearance and display of models. And best of all, the tool is now free. Major enhancements include: Improved table display customization Significantly improved model printing Redesign of model presentation with improved colors, backgrounds and contrast Better forward and reverse engineering Streamline interface options and settings And much more ... To exploit the full potential of ApexSQL Model, you will need the professional version of ApexSQL Diff. ApexSQL Diff is used for forward engineering to a new or existing database. But in ApexSQL Model 2019, we'll eliminate the requirement for ApexSQL Diff, to forward engineer to a new database. Although it will still be required to forward engineer to an existing database. SQL formatting automation We have many other releases, since the last newsletter (please see below) but one notable new feature is a command line interface for ApexSQL Refactor, our free SQL formatting and refactoring tool. ApexSQL Backup 2018 R5 This release of ApexSQL Backup 2018 R5 comes with SQL Server 2019 CTP 2.0 support, built-in backup templates, customizable reports and real-time activities progress status information. Beside these features, usability and quality are improved with 4 bugs fixed. ApexSQL Recover 2018 R4 This release of ApexSQL Recover 2018 R4 comes with Include Primary key column value on before-after auditing option. Data source validity is checked when added. Beside these features, usability and quality are improved with 15 bugs fixed. ApexSQL Refactor 2018 R5 This release of ApexSQL Refactor 2018 R5 comes with Visual Studio 2019 integration support and CLI support for formatting SQL code. Beside these features, usability and quality are improved with 7 bugs fixed. ApexSQL Log 2018 R4 This release of ApexSQL Log 2018 R4 comes with Save automation script as a PowerShell script option, Include Primary key column value on before-after auditing. ApexSQL Monitor 2018 R8 This release of ApexSQL Monitor 2018 R8 comes with real time SQL Server activity, per metric alert grouping viewer, improved alerts filtering, Add or remove multiple servers option, enable or disable monitoring of multiple servers option, blocking chain. Usability and quality are improved with 9 bugs fixed. ApexSQL Build 2018 R3 This release of ApexSQL Build 2018 R3 comes with SQL Server 2019 CTP 2.0 support, new application icon, new error handling and send logs functionality, improved application installer with a dark theme. Usability and quality are improved with 2 bugs fixed. ApexSQL DevOps toolkit 2018 R6 This release of ApexSQL DevOps toolkit 2018 R6 comes with native plug-in for Jenkins and support for TeamCity 2018.1.3 and later. Quality is improved.
