ApexSQL November 2017 newsletter - New SQL developer product released – automated SQL Server best practice reviews   Click here to view this newsletter in your browser         ApexSQL November 2017 newsletter     In this newsletter, we’ll be announcing the release of the long awaited, ApexSQL Enforce, a tool for automating SQL Server code base reviews. ApexSQL Enforce ApexSQL Enforce can be run against a SQL Server database or a SQL script, to process rules (117 initially) to enforce best practices related to naming conventions, deprecated features, design and more. Violations will be raised in the interface, to allow for further investigation, and SQL to fix the problem can even be generated and run. One of the biggest features of ApexSQL Enforce is the ability for users to customize and even create rules themselves, via a built-in IDE (see below), an internal object model that exposes the SQL parse tree, and auto-complete to help users navigate properties and methods. We even included a tutorial rulebase to help you get started. Along with some content Rules 101 – getting started with ApexSQL Enforce How to execute an unattended best practices review against a database How to fail at running rulebases How to import new rules into an existing rulebase ApexSQL Enforce Command Line Interface CLI switches We are already hard at work on R2 which will include SSMS and Visual Studio integration Ability to ignore rules for certain objects New interface/icons More rules Interested in a license.
