New product – data import and export We are happy to announce the imminent release of another new product. ApexSQL Pump is a developer tool for getting data into and out of a database, for example to export into Excel or import from CSV. New features We’ve have released several new versions of ApexSQL Doc in the recent weeks. Two big new features are support for SharePoint and Tableau documentation. Please see the following links below for more information: What’s new in ApexSQL Doc 2017 R5 – SharePoint documentationWhat’s new in ApexSQL Doc 2017 R4 – Tableau documentation We’ve also recently released several new features for ApexSQL Complete, a free SSMS and Visual Studio add-in for SQL code auto-complete that includes a variety of other enhancements for improved productivity. Export results to Excel – right click query results directly into an Excel spreadsheet Automatic CRUD procedure creation – quickly generate Insert, Update, Delete and Select procedures from a customizable template, right from SSMS or Visual Studio Execution alerts – to prevent execution of a statement that may inadvertently delete or damage data. The feature includes the ability to customize and even create new alerts For a detailed description of all of these features see What’s new in ApexSQL Complete 2017 R7. Frequent updates We have begun implementing a new feature in our auto-updater, frequent updates, to allow users to update to patches, we release. Traditionally users have had to manually download and install these patches from the Patches category on the download page. Now, with the click of a check box, patches can be included in the normal update process. Patches are more iterative updates, that generally include bug fixes only. They can be helpful for users affected by a particular bug that was patched or just generally want to benefit from incremental quality improvements. Get your keys updated and resent automatically Each time we add a new product (which is frequently), this product is added to our bundles. So if you own an ApexSQL bundle e.g. ApexSQL Developer, the key will be added to your list of keys and products. We send out periodic account reviews to update existing customers with new keys and customers can always email us as well to request them to be resent. But now you can update your account to get new tools and have keys sent to you automatically. Just go to our new Resend keys kiosk, enter the email associated with the account and hit the button! SQL Source control videos We’ve released a lot of new videos on SQL source control in the last few weeks based on popular topics raised by users. Did you know you could manage data with ApexSQL Source control? Working with static data Or that you could implement sophisticated branching schemes? How to utilize branching in Git How about implementing SQL source control without even selecting or using a source control repository, requiring only a working file folder? Using a Working folder with SQL Server source control Associating changeset with a specific work ID is another key capability of Team Foundation Server that can be implemented in ApexSQL Source control. Our Bamboo plug-in should be publically available in a few weeks. Other plug-ins for VSTS/TFS, TeamCity and Jenkins will be released over the coming weeks. By integrating the free ApexSQL CI/CD plug-in into your Bamboo pipelines, you can include all of the critical steps needed to create a SQL Server database CI and/or CD pipeline including.
