A vast majority of top content creators signed YouTube Red‘s revenue share deal, but it’s because they didn’t have much of a choice. YouTube confirmed to TechCrunch that if creators who earn a cut of ad revenue refused to sign the deal, their videos would be completely hidden from public view. They wouldn’t appear in the YouTube Red ad-free service, nor would they appear on YouTube’s regular ad-supported service.”   READ MORE     Amazon, Netflix, Google, Microsoft, Mozilla And Others Partner To Create Next-Gen Video Format   "Amazon, Cisco, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Mozilla and Netflix ... announced that they have formed a new open source alliance — the Alliance for Open Media — with the goal of developing the next generation of royalty-free video formats, codecs and other related technologies. Journalists weighed in with lines like 'RIP Flash,' 'Adobe is finally ready to say goodbye to Flash' and 'Adobe Flash is finally dead.' The reality is less dramatic."   READ MORE     PRODUCT UPDATES     New Player Features   Learn about player enhancements including sharing and related plug ins, responsive related video overlay, and faster video starts with pre-load.   READ MORE     Multiple Properties   JW Player accounts now support multiple sites and users.   READ MORE     QUICK POLL   Content and Technology Both Key to Video Strategy in The Year Ahead   See what more than 100 of your peers had to say about the biggest challenges facing them in 2016.   VIEW RESULTS     Quality of Experience Analytics   Tracking the correct metrics helps publishers track and improve viewers' quality of experience.
